AD: Laundry sheets might be my favourite boring discovery of 2026

There are some household jobs that really don’t need to be as complicated as they are. Laundry is most certainly one of them!

When MajoyKlean reached out to me to ask if they could send me some of their new laundry sheets, I was immediately intrigued as to how they could help from an accessibility standpoint with doing my washing. This is the kind of accessibility life hack I really like…

The best hacks don’t always look “accessible”

When we talk about accessible products, our minds often go straight to things specifically designed for disabled people – that are (quite often) ugly, bulky and sometimes quite inconvenient.

Sometimes the best accessibility is much less obvious, and simply exists to actually remove a step. That is most certainly the case here. No carrying large containers, pouring liquid, gripping bottles, opening lids, measuring or carrying around. It’s literally a box, with some sheets that you chuck into the drum of the washing machine.

If there was an award for spilling laundry detergent when you attempt to use it, I fear I would win. They always have a big sticker on the front of the bottle to tell you how many washes you should get from one bottle, and I don’t think I’ve hit even half that, once in my adult life!

With these sheets, it’s just tear one off and put it in. No measuring needed – I love it!

I’m a big believer that genuinely accessible design often benefits everyone, and this is a really good example of that. I can picture my Sister with a child trying to quickly throw a wash on, my elderly relatives struggling to bend and therefore needing to do so for less time and myself on a bad day, actually managing to get near the washing machine.

A white woman, wearing brown dungerees, holding a white rectangle laundry sheet in front of her face.

Finally, detergent in = laundry out

It’s no secret that we’re living in a cozzy livs crisis and so pennies really count, especially for disabled people.

With laundry sheets, there’s no guessing or accidentally being a little too generous. One sheet is one dose, which means I can actually see how many washes I have left. It makes budgeting and keeping track of household supplies so much easier.

Less mess. Less measuring. Less stuff.

Spaces in our homes are a premium and if your kitchen is anything like mine, cupboard space is limited. Getting rid of a million bottles of ‘things’ and pairing down my cupboard is a delight and an energy saver. It’s satisfying to remove an unnecessary step from the routine.

Now, I just need to find a way to condense my other cleaning supplies as neatly!

Why products like this interest me as a disabled creator

I’ve become that adult who gets excited visiting the cleaning aisle – but genuinely, when I find products that are designed for everyone, but help me to live accessible, I’m never so happy!

Not everything that makes life easier for disabled people needs to come from the disability section or have “accessible” written across the packaging. Often things that are marketed to us are more expensive, when all we want to inclusion and equity.

Sometimes inclusive design is simply about reducing the amount of lifting, gripping, measuring, bending, opening, pouring or remembering that a task requires. These changes can be tiny, but the cumulative difference they make can be enormous.

This is where I love doing adverts with genuinely lovely brands like this one. I don’t want to simply be known for holding a product up to camera and tell people that it’s great. I want to find the genuine reason someone might incorporate it into their life and help them to see that living with a disability can be empowering.

So, to end on a true influencer style note – a sheet of laundry detergent hasn’t revolutionised my life. It has, however, made one boring household job noticeably easier. 10 out of 10, I will be using laundry sheets from now on!
